My uncle got hold of myself and told me he broke the wrist on his Savage 24VA (3030 over 20 gauge). He asked me to find a replacement. Boyds has them, but only labeled as 24 with a raised cheek weld.

Every photo I have seen of these shows the the buttstock look the same other than the cheek weld. Should the buttstocks fit the receive universally?

From Boyd's page- "ATTENTION CUSTOMERS :The Stevens/Savage Model 94 and 24 use the same receivers. The Model 24 stock has a monte carlo style comb, the Model 94 has a straight field style comb."

Assuming the combo gun you have is the 24V. I believe the action is more robust than the regular 24 action (22/410 etc) and that the stock that Boyd's is marketing won't fit. The measurements are on their page.

A raised comb makes scope use easier. The stocks are wood and wood is easier to remove than to add. Extra wood allows fitting to an individual rather than a generic fit.
