Oi lads,
What cannest thou tell me about a Savage 24D Series P in .22wmr/20ga ser# B983500? Namely, what the hell does D and Series P mean, and any idears on a mfg date...
Savage24.com has suprisingly little info.
Oh, one last thing- does Williams or somebody make peep sights for them?

I was on the Williams site and they list that particular sight. (or is it Williams sight and they list that site- I get so confused)
They don't have a model specific pic, do you hafta drill & tap for it?

Do you know what's kinda neat? Savage 24s.
 
I just went back to the 1975 catalogue and I see the 24D wasn't D&T'd for scope mounts that year but it was grooved for a scope.

If I were you I'd try to find an old steel Redfield. They made the RE-24 "Sharpshooter" peep sight that was made for Savage 24's with the grooved scope mount rails. I think Williams made one of those sights as well called the WGRS-24 made for Savage model 24 with the grooved mounts but you needed a higher front sight to use it.
