Relatively minor problem, but I bought a savage 311 and have found that the screw that holds the front of the trigger guard down has stripped the wood out. The screw will go in and only hold for a shot or two before it lets go again. I tried putting a couple small bits of toothpick in the hole to take up space but it hasn't held up. Is there something like epoxy that I could fill it with that will hold but still allow me to take the screw out if necessary?

I would drill the hole out slightly and glue/epoxy a suitable sized dowel. Then re drill to appropriate hole and drive the screw in. This is not a real quick fix but it will last.
