Savage 340 Side mount screw size

Good morning,
I have a Savage 340 that needs to be drilled and tapped for the Weaver side mount. Also wanting to tap it for the receiver sight as well.
I'm thinking 6-48 for the side mount and 8-40 for the receiver sight.
Can anyone confirm this or provide the proper sizes?

Receiver sights are usually attached with 6x48 screws.

I believe the opposite...

All the sight mounts on Savage 340's I have seen use 8x40 and all the receivers sights I have seen use 6x48

What screws came with your side mount and receiver sight?

As it turns out, on my rifle, all tapped holes are 8-40
