Savage 340A value

Hi evryone, my friend has a 340A in vg to excellent condition in 30/30 that he wants to sell. can anyone help us with a ballpark value?

Local gunshop has one in useable shape with a 4x scope mounted for $199...

It's a neet little utility gun. I think the $200-300 range is fair. In NIB condition, I'd be pressed to offer more than $350.

It's a particularly decent gun for handloaders, as the mag feed doesn't limit you to flat points.

Unfortunately there is not a big demand for these rifles in 30-30. They can often be had in the $200 range in "good" condition. I'd guess $250ish for "excellent" condition,
