savage 42 front sight ?

Iam curious if anybody has altered the front sight on the 42. I was thinking of filing part of it off and touring on a portion of of a fiberoptic .

I hated the sights so much I broke down and put a red dot on.

I took a small round jewelers file to the top of my savage 24 and made a small grove in it and than crazy glued a small green fiber optic pin on. It made a big difference and I can now pick up the sight very quickly and see it 10x better.

I have been thinking of doing the same thing with a fiber optic rod I have.
