Savage 64 FXP 1 piece scope base

Anyone know of a one piece scope base that will fit a Savage model 64 FXP? This one is not a dovetailed receiver, it's drilled and tapped from the factory.

I was also unable to determine for certain if there are any other Savage models with the same hole pattern for this and similar shaped round receiver (eg. will raises for an mkII, Axis, 110, etc. work?).
 
Hi - I've had a 64 for a while with that issue - CT 'special' - no irons and no scope for $150 about 5 years ago. I just bought a set of medium rings w/o a base - my scopes have all allowed me enough relief adjustment so now no further problem. I've looked around (only at BP here) and can't find any bases. I have a Bushnell 3-9 that I'm trying to get dialled in. It's standard scope so the parallax is set for 100Y, but the front lens unscrews so I can adjust the parallax. Just working on the fine tuning. I don't think the gun can keep much under 1" but I shoot outdoors and haven't had a 'still' day this Spring. You'll find in time a problem with the magazines if you shoot much. They're soft casting and the lips both wear and will bend if bumped. I made do for a couple years with many 'adjustments' to them due to lots of stove pipes. As I said in that post, I sent pics of the worn out mags to Savage Cust Service and after a few weeks they sent me 3 new replacement mags.
 
BTW, the reply to my post there doesn't relate to my experience - I had a mag that only fed properly if it was held tightly UP into the well. And another that I put JB weld on to hold it Down in the well ^0^
 
Your rifle looks like my same setup in the pics in that other post. I'm putting a different scope on the rifle, the eye relief is a little less, and I'm pretty tall. That's why I'm trying to move it back a bit if I can. A single multi slot scope base just on the front would even do the trick. I'd like to get it back maybe a 1/4".

As for the mags, thanks, I'll check out the jb trick. I have 3x new mags, and 3x old worn mags that work fine with about 5 round each. I was thinking of greasing the tops of the new magazines to see if that'd help increase the time it'll take to wear.

Something like the Burris extreme tactical base would even be an option, I'd just need the slightly longer one on the front.
 
Hi again - I just ran across this while looking for torque specs - " The scope bases that fit on our Savage and Stevens rimfires are Weaver #16 and 24. You can check with your local dealer for availability. Savage customer service also has a set of bases available if you can not locate them in a shop near you. "

If you can't find a different base, Weaver makes an offset ring that may solve your issue. It puts the ring ahead of or behind the slot in the base depending on which way you install it. Other manufacturers may make something similar as well.

Thanks, I was checking out the Weaver #16's the other day and daw they're the same as what had come with my rifle. I had tested out some browning BAR two piece bases, but the curve bottom profile doesn't match the receiver of the model 64 so well. Screw holes were within 0.005" and fit fine though.
 
Thanks, offset rings are a good idea and could work. I'm going to contact Savage first to see if they'll sell me the OEM one piece rail that I'm seeing comes with the Savage 64 TR-SR model. If not, offset rings is the way I'll probably go.
