I have looked at the firearms display several times in Canadian Tire in Yorkton. Last time I noticed 2 Savage 64B .22lr rifles side by side. One was $173.xx and the other was $393.xx. They had different stock numbers, but looked identical. So, today, I had the clerk take both out. We compared them as carefully as we could. Neither of us could any difference, and he could offer no explanation. I am fairly sure that there was a mistake on the $393 one.

Anybody know something I don't? Next time I go I will see if they will check it out more closely. I bought the $173.xx one, as I gave my combine/tractor/swather Mossberg Plinkster to a friend.

Shoulda got a regular bolt action those 64 semi autos are junkers! I have seen two in person both crap the bed. Ones mags couldnt even hold rounds any more the metal was so soft. They made the mag so thick though you cant just press it in!

Wood stock or synthetic? Reason is Cabelas sells the G model with wood for $300, and an F model with synthetic stock and 4x32 scope for $200 (but can be had for $170 On sale). Either way you got a good deal. They are a nice little plinking gun.

Synthetic. Both seemed identical to each other.

I put an el cheapo Tasco red dot on it. Will sight it in in the next while and have it ready to take with me in the tractor for Fall work. Hope to get a fair bit of work. Last year, I worked until Nov. 18 harrowing thousands of acres.
