Awesome news. I have been eyeing these off and on forever lol. Try at 50 yards and report back if you could please. I know my sr22 at 30 was not the greatest at all.

thanks camster, i switched ammo from winchester 555 to winchester dynapoint gt target ammo and was wondering what changed my gun from jamming 3-4 times a mag to once ha ha ha, its the round nose of course, she is a cooey 64 A with the plastic mag, sure would like to find another mag for her, mine's just about not usable cause the guides are broke so bad dam winchester for putting plastic on cooeys :)
 
proud owner of a Lakefield 64B for 26 yrs....had the typical feed issue, but with a lil polishing of the feedramp and mag lips it has been running perfect for years and years.....recently added a Savage 64 synthetic/blued to the herd but haven't had a chance to take it out as yet.....both have less expensive bushnell 3-9x32 glass on board......just buy extra mags TON'S of ammo and enjoy.....
 
Best thing for these rifles (and any semi-auto rimfire) is to shoot it WET with a good synthetic CLP-type product. Instead of having carbon and oil baked into the metal, BreakFree keeps it in suspension and cleanup is as easy as a wipe with a cloth. You won't believe how well it works until you've tried it. Don't even bother cleaning the rifle before you start using it - just spray it into the action and around the bolt and start shooting.

And I feel like I've neglected my 64 for too long. I need to take it out with the kids one weekend.
 
well took the savage 64 out using 20+ year old ammo and not one problem, no feed probs, eject, or missfire. only problem was that the ammo is not good for target shooting very iratic

You mean you're not getting 1/8" C-T-C @ 50 meters anymore?

really that is odd i never had any issues at all even with using 20 plus year old ammo.
