Savage 64F how do I fix it?

I had my 64 and it's 5 mags out this weekend. On of those mags had the an offset mag ramp like the OP's...in fact 2 others have well worn cartridge retaining tabs but those things didn't affect feed function at all. I was shooting Blazer 40gr solids and Federal Champion 36gr all day long without any feed issues, so again, I think that a round nose profile should be the fix.

I had the same results with that ammo. Win 555 stuff, right?

I have been using the CCI Blazer with great success. I don't think your issue is the mag, just the type of ammo you are using.

Cheers,

Lawrence

Why is there no recall/fix for this issue. Finding posts about it all over the Internet.

This gun has been sold under different brand names for many years. Now all of a sudden it has recall issues??? The problem is more than likely to do with high tech internet types that would sooner post a problem than take a few minutes to actually have a look at it and clean it. Clean it every now and then, use ammo it likes and enjoy.
Before savage it was the Lakefield 64, before that is was the Winchester Cooey 64....I bought a used Winchester Cooey 64 in the early 70's...still have it.

My Savage 64 is BRAND NEW, and has less than 500 rounds through it, and it has the exact same problem. I have used both round nose Blazer & FMJ hollow point Winchester. the Hollow Points are the worst for the Savage, every 2nd & 3rd round was a jam or misfire.

I shoot peters and eagle out of mine, It's really hit and miss, but it seems to like the peters more then anything else. it liked the jacketed CCI's. I've also gone though 4 magazines in the last year because they wear out so fast. Im just gonna put a 10/22 on layaway. Im not a fan of throwing away 20% of my ammo every time I go shooting.

I had that problem in any gun I put the win stuff in. Nothing likes it

Dont assume. I have disassembled twice. once degreasing everything the other time greasing. I have tried 4 different ammo and bought a new mag that looks perfect. The problem has evolved to an ejection issue:

I think that something is out of whack and will be taking it to the local gun shop to have a look at it because I feel it is beyond my ability.

Will keep you posted
Ethan
