I recently purchased a 9 shot detachable magazine for my Savage LRPV repeater. I installed the mag for the first time today and I think it looks fantastic. I loaded 9 rounds into the mag and emptied it by cycling the action and had no issues at all, so I did it 20 more times with the same results.

This in addition to the extended bolt handle and single shot follower have been excellent modifications to an already amazing rifle. Who knew you could get a 9 shot mag for around $100 bucks without having to do any crazy work.

Thank you Sharp Shooter Supply

I am fixing the pics now.

The bolt handle is great, it took all of twelve seconds to install and provides more control when closing the bolt. The trigger on this rifle is a little light (6 oz or so) and closing the original bolt handle often required me to recock the gun and remember to gently lower the bolt handle.

my savage came with the hunting accutrigger, so I am giving the SSS one a try, the site says it will go to 12oz and work with the safety. I found the stock savage big handle would almost smack me in the knuckles if I wasnt careful where I kept my hand

Very nice! I ordered the DIY package from SSS for my 10FCP, but might order another 9 round full kit soon, especially if things turn even more sour down south.

Since the recent change over to the new center feed magazines, the system lends itself to be modular, and adaptable to most applications on current rifles. For the blind, detachable and hinged floorplate magazine configurations, the same magazine box is utilized. The blind magazine consists of a box and follower. For the detachable box magazine, it uses the same components, plus a snap on bottom cap. For the hinged floorplate model, the same components are used in conjunction with a magazine frame with the hinged lid. The detachable box magazine requires the appropriate magazine frame to retain the box. Both the DBM and HFP use the same stock, the inlet is the same for both sets of hardware.

With this in mind, we recently introduced a few new stock patterns to take advantage of the whole system of DBM, blind and HFP rifles. Now one may start with a blind magazine rifle and upgrade to DBM or HFP by adding the correct components.

With the introduction of this system, the DBM is quite popular opposed to the blind magazine, and has led to many requests for conversions. We have also had many requests for higher capacity magazines, and we are offering a magazine extension box kit to increase the capacity to 9 rounds in the .308 family of cartridges. Higher capacity magazines for the .223 and .30-06 family of magazines will follow in the near future.

From their site..

Frome what I can tell he only makes the 308 mag right now, but more are to follow. The quality is unbelievable and it fits snuggly into the action. The rounds chatter a bit, but oh well.

It will fit 10 of my 22-250 cartridges but won't secure itself into the action. Oh no, I only have 9 shots.

So if I decided to buy a .22-250 barrel for my 10FCP, I could switch out the barrel and keep everything as is and shoot .22-250?

The blind mag on the Stevens 200's kept me away, but this info says that you can convert to a detachable mag, high cap no less!

Does Richards Microfit or any of the other stock manufacturers do an inlet for detachable mag savages?

Sweet... when I get everything setup, this should be great! Hope it's not much trouble changing out barrels in that particular setup.
