Savage 93 Factory base. Good or bad?

Just wondering what the general consensus is on the factory bases on the Savage 93.

Solid? Good enough? very good? Not good at all?

I like mine! No worries with it. Have a Bushnell Banner scope mounted on my Savage Mako.

for regular use they are fine, but for long range 150yds+ you may want to take them off in favor of a rail with a slant.

I have had a 3-9x40, 4-12x40 A/O and a 6-18x50 A/O mounted on my 9317GV with no issues.
I never felt like they were unstable or inferior. I think your rings are the main fitting issue possible but I use $15 aluminum rings that have always worked perfectly.
