Just picked up this rifle......
Using the original open sights with the rear sight set to it's lowest adjustible setting, the POI is still 3" high @ 25 yards using the "6 O'clock" hold. Gets worse with 34 grain ammo.
I do NOT want to scope the gun, but would like the POI to be bang on at 25 yards......
Next to filing a deeper notch into the rear sight, and then filing down the top flat area........what can be done to correct this? Haven't heard anyone else complain about their Savage 22 sights.
Are "better" sights available for the Savage 93 22 wmr? I *think* it has 3/8ths dovetail mounts on the barrel, front and rear.
