Savage 9317 clip?

What is it that makes the clip such a pain to put in and remove. I just picked one up and thought that it was stiff.

Anyone else with this same problem, how about a fix?

I believe that is the same magazine that the 22WMR version uses. And they are a PITA at first, but once you get it worked in they start to fit and seat better.

I polished the edges on mine and on the guide on the rifle. Lot better now.

Honestly never had an issue with my 93R17 they slide in and out no prob.

I took mine to the savage warranty guy, had a feed prob and he did his magic on it (hammer) now it works great no feed issues and release is much better but my guess is u don't want to hammer on it anyway the guy said Ther tight like that so they will feed

It is brand new and the magazine has only been in and out a couple of times. I'll have to shoot it a bit and see if it works itself in. The salesman said that it wasn't the nicest thing to work with. He was right!

It's not a clip it's a mag

Besides that after using it for a while it gets easier to put in and remove

Now if they only made on that held more than 5 rounds
