I currently own a Savage 93R17 GV and love it, but im thinking about upgrading. Anyone have any opinions? Ive been leaning towards the 93R17-BTVS, but I want to make sure its an "upgrade" and not just a $200 fancy stock. I've also been thinking about the CZ.... What do you think would be better?

I have had a 93 GL (lefty) 22 Mag for a few years - it's awesome. It's pre-accu-trigger so I put a Rifle Basix sear in it - trigger is now lighter than any accutrigger without further smithing - SWEET!

Had to try out a 17 HMR and just rec'd a 93R17 BVSS. Based on the performance of the 93GL, I'd say Savage all the way.

A buddy has a Savage 17 heavy which shoots slightly better than my 22 Mag. Since I shoot left, I had to go with the BV edition. I think the BVTS is cool looking. Another friend has a BVTS in 22lr - it's awesome too.

The 17 gets de-flowered tomorrow night at the range!!!

Again - Savage shoots! Why pay more? (I know that's going to start a war....hee hee !!!)

I'll try to post initial results.

I have a Savage heavy barrel, shoots excellent. This one seems to have a preference to Remington ammo, groups are just a bit tighter than with Hornady.

I just picked up a 93R17-BTVSS this afternoon from Williams Arms in Port Perry. Can anyone recommend a scope based on their own experiences with this or a similar calibered rifle??? This is my first firearm cambered for 17HMR.
