I'm ditching the plastic stock on my 93r17 FVSS. I'm going to a boyds thumbhole stock, what hardware is needed from savage? I'm looking for longer action screw I think, and a trigger guard with screws, and a magazine plate with screws. I'm hoping to keep them all stainless to match my barrel, bolt and magazines.

Does anyone know part numbers, or even dimensions of the parts I need? I've called savage, and boyds, both put me on hold for a while and took my info and said they would call back when they could.

I believe boyds might have that info listed on there site some-wheres? Might have been another site maybe But I can't remember. I'm sure somebody will chime in soon.

You will need different receiver screws for sure to mount the stock. I forget which part numbers, both Boyds and Savage can get them for you.

Took a while (lunch break maybe) but savage did get back to me.

It was around $40 shipped for parts from savage

And about $150 shipped for the stock

Now the wait..... It almost feels like waiting for a new gun. I hope it feels like a new gun.

Boyds said they would if I ordered them, but the stock would ship 2 days before the hardware, and the hardware would have a $40 shipping charge. For $40 I got everything from savage and ordered it the same day as my stock.

I got excellent service from Savage, too. Parts were reasonable in cost, and very high quality. I didn't bother with the magazine plate (bottom plate) as they're not very sturdy, so I made my own out of 1/8" plate steel, but the rest were Savage parts. They fit the Boyd's stock perfectly, and are nicely finished.
