Savage 99 load

Anyone care to share their favourite whitetail hunting load for a 99 in .308....

well i got a load for you , but it ain't for whitetail- 44 grains of ww748 under a 180 grain spitzer- better known as a bang- whump-flop- probably mess your whitetail up real good

What works in one rifle may not in yours. IMR4895 or varget are good powders to start with.

I put together a load for my brothers 99/308. 42gr H4895, 165 gr Hornady SST, CCI LR primers produced 2.5" average group at 200 meters. Not the best accuracy but far from the worst.
