I have the same rifle 1899 model in 300 savage. says july 25 1893 oct 3 1899
sep10 1907 May 25 1909 June 1909 this is one of my grandfathers old rifles he passed in 1962

I am curious about the one with scope mounts, is there a name on manufacture of those mounts? I would appreciate if I could find out as mounts really intriuge me, thanks dale Z. PS if you PM me the ser #'s I will give you atleast year of manufacture!

They are both 99 G's (take down). The drilling and tapping is not factory. The forestocks comes off with a little button (pull back on the button and down on the foretock and it will come off). Open the action and the barrel should twist off. That vintage will be full threads, so it will be a few turns to remove the barrel. Hard to tell from the pictures but they look well used. What are the calibers?

The savage 99 site is great but I would like to sell and I need more info becides year of manufacture I know there both pre war and that's it can anyone tell me a value possibly someone who collects these Iv messaged a few collector with no response lol

It is next to impossible to evaluate a gun with pictures over the net? Any honest fellow who would give you a specific value, is very foolish and misleading! This is why know one is replying? There are so many model changes concernig mechanisms, stocking, take down type etc., that unless your well versed in Savage 1899's and model 99's, it is better to keep your mouth shut and let the guy who collects these teach you, just my humble opinion, worth 2 cents maybe, Dale Z
