I have a Savage 99 EG in 300 Savage that the previous owner swapped out the original stock (cracked) for a stock with a curved butt with a steel plate. Are there any replacement stocks for this in Canada? I've seen some on the net from the USA. If I put the original stock back on how would I repair it - type of glue etc. Would it hold together on a hunting trip? Thanks.

Pics of the old stock would help with repair ideas.
Maddog is our resident 99 expert, and I'm sure will appear shortly. He will have the scoop.
Me, I know that Brownells (US) lists a 99 stock, I think it's birch though.

Western Gun parts stocks both used and new stocks for these rifles. Just google western gun parts. Pretty easy to deal with and they stock lots of weird stuff even Marlin too.

You could probably auction the old 1899 stock with the curved buttplate off and make enough money to buy yourself a new butt with what the U.S. guys are paying for parts these days, makes me shake my head.
