Savage 99

Is the rotary magazine Savage 99 a controlled round feed rifle? Or is this just reserved for bolt action rifiles?

It's a push feed.

A well made push feed, but a push feed.

Not sure about the rimless models but I would consider the rimmed versions as controlled.
As you close the action the bolt picks up the shell behind the extractor, that's why you don't have to completely close the action to cycle the shells out of the gun

Just tried mine in .308 yep it's controled feed.

I been told they are controlled feed. If I rememeber right that was the consensus at the campfire where the pro stars hang out too.
