Re-barrelling a Savage 99 is somewhat more involved than the same job on a typical bolt action. There is an extractor cut, bolt guide cut, a dovetail for the fore arm mount, and sight installation. In other words, cutting the chamber and threading the barrel is less than half the job. The magazine spool for the 30/30 should work OK for the 25-35.
