Is it possible to switch barrels on this rifle. I have a 308 that I would like to change to a 243. The 243 has seen major damage to the reciever and the 308 has had the barrel split on the muzzle end and was shortened.

It is possible. Since you have both rifles, you can use the .243 magazine (if it's a 99C clip model) or rotary spool (if it has the internal rotary mag) to ensure good feeding.

And since someone will want to correct me for calling it a clip.... sigh....Savage Arms calls their removeable magazines "clips" and stamps it right on some of them.

Yep, should be no problem. As long as the cartridge case is the same, it should pose no problem. I just had a completely shot-out .30-30 rebarreled to .32-40, and it required zero work to the rotary magazine; just a re-barrel.
