savage 99

k i have a savage 99 in 308 now i have noticed a few comfort issues with it IE its to damn small for my giant gorillia hands when i hold the forestock flat in my palm my fingers wrap around the barrel and get quite warm so i hold it like a dainty tea cup with my fingers holding it up instead of it resting my palm
which is very shaky and in accurate is there anywhere that sells a wider or bigger for stock ? how hard would it be to make a new one but bigger?
anyone know of a good hand shrinker out there ?
too give you and idea of the size of my hands splayed out from tip of my pinky to tip og my thumb goes from the left ctrl key to just a hair past the right ctrl key on my key board

I would try Boyds Gun Stocks at:

They will make you a custom stock for the Savage 99 (at least they used to)

I talked to them last year and they are very accommodating.

never thought of that hmm i look into that

Try shooting it with your index finger extended along the bottom of the forestock so that you're 'pointing' to the muzzle. Grip the side of the forstock with the side of your thumb on one side and on the other side grip with your three other finger tips. I've shot various old rifles with very slender forestocks and this is the comfortable way for me to do it without touching metal...

Find a model R, they have semi-beavertail forearm and are alot fatter and wide.
