Did this.(The takedown maybe non factory wood?)
Pulling the butt plate and forend to check serial numbers would be quick, could be factory wood with later embellishment checkering on the cheeks.
Dint see no numbers so aftermarket it is I suppose.

Well if you find a 300 savage take down that is in great condition( good bore really) let me know I’m in the Yukon too!Hey Mike
I didn’t have a picture of my 99F’s other than a group photo which would have been confusing on my phone.
So… 308/1966. 300/1957. 250/1955. And a 243/1957. Equipped just the way I got them with scopes and sling swivels, cleaned them up and that’s as far as they made it, shooting to start when I retire…..pfffft!

I feel the same about Browning BLR. Some people love them but personally don't care for them.I currently have a 1921 1899F takedown in .250 and a 1954 99EG in .250.
I've owned just one 99F and frankly, I found it hard to shoot. That light barrel just felt wrong to me.
No, mine is marked Chicopee MassPost 1960 Model 99F
Still nice rifles tho
Curious if the barrel is marked Westfield, Mass?
