That's a beautiful rifle....would love to see pictures of the whole gun. Judging from some recent auctions, I'd expect that you could get $3K-$4K for it. Does it shoot as good as it looks?
It's only fired a few rounds....The last time it was fired was about 40 years ago.
The ones I found on US auction sights have run about $1000 to $1500. Not sure what they are worth here.
Never had one but always wanted one, wish I could afford it. That's a beautiful piece, you're very fortunate. I've seen the "hunting" versions being sold for $450-$500, one of these days I'll have to open the wallet.
The fellow I got it from knows I'm going to BC on a Elk/moose hunt and would like me to use it for the hunt....Don't think I want to beat it up hunting...I have others for that.
They only made them for 5 years and it's in such nice shape, I'd hate to be the one to ding it up.
Yup, lever guns really look much better with peep sights. Unfortunately, when you arrive at 50 the open sights don't seem to work well and when you arrive at 60........... ya, scopes look ok.
Beautiful rifle and definitely one of the fanciest 99s I've ever seen. I wouldn't be afraid to take it hunting but I would just be careful with it for sure, no heavy brush doggin duty perhaps.
