Hey guys~I like Eric's site, and his review of the CZ 527 in 17 Hornet is what sort of put me over the edge a year or so back on that rifle...just had to have one! :) Anyhow, I was poking around his site this morning and saw this; http://www.varminter.com/the-new-savage-arms-a17-in-17-mach-2-17hm2/ If you're a fan of 17M2 like I am, this is a very interesting development. :) I haven't felt a shred of interest in the A series semis (or many semis at all) but hearing a modern semi in this caliber might be available....? Well, I could see wanting to play with one of these for sure! The only thing that might hold me back is if they offer their new bolt guns in this caliber too~I would definitely have a tough decision to make.

Anyhow, let's hope she's accurate...and in Canada soon!

I've got an A17 Target Sporter that is a solid 1moa rifle. I'll wait for Savage to come out with a 17M2 version of that rifle, I won't get one in the plastic stock ever again (Bmag).

I haven't been watching Savage closely in the last couple of years...but having been tempted by 17M2 semis for so long (Marlin 717, T/C) I may not be able to pass on one of these. Very curious to see what accuracy is like, and to determine that...the available ammo options will need to open up a bit. All I'm seeing is Hornadyy 17gr. I'm not sure what I'd have to see to tempt me/scare me off, but if it's under 3/4" @ even 75 yards...there is no way I'm NOT getting one. lol

I like my HMR version, I did five, 5 shot groups at 100 and it averaged 1.03". It's very reliable, I don't recall having a failure of any kind in the 1000 or so fired out of it.

On HM2 accuracy, the current Hornady ammo isn't that great. I've got a 452 American, 452 Varmint and the Hornady stuff is flyer city at 50. Older Hornady as well as CCI and Eley all shoot amazing. I'm hoping these shoot, I'll get one, but not a plastic stock.
