Has anyone bought the new Savage A22 Magnum semi-automatic rifle . I am looking to buy one and was wondering if it shoots accurately and flawlessly. Any input would be really appreciated. Thanks !

22mag is the least accurate of all the rimfires, if you are looking for accuracy the 17hmr or 22lr will deliver much better results.

I have read and seen some vids indicating that there about a 2 MOA rifle. You won't get much better than that with a bolt 22wmr. As stated before the 22wmr is not particularly accurate.

22 mag was more accurate than 22LR in my CZ 455. Previously the CZ 512 was the only Semi in .22 mag but now this Savage for 1/2 the price is interesting. If it ever comes out in Stainless, I'll have to have one. The YouTube I watched shows it being very accurate with the Accu Trigger.

True if you don't include semi auto rifles from:

1. Volquartsen
2. Magnum Research
3. Tanfoglio
4. Remington

Out of production are:

1. HK
2. Ruger

A few others I'm sure I just forgot

22 mag can be accurate - there are greater challenges to control the loads as almost all 22 mag ammo is factory ammo. I'm not an expert on the rifling twist in 22 Mag rifles but I question if a 16 twist may not be ideal. Especially for the heavier 45 or 50 grain 22 Mag ammo. The Hornady 30 grain is about as good as it gets in a particular rifle that I have some familiarity with. Others may have found a least one brand that does well in their rifle.

As far as the Savage A22 Mag semi rifle goes there are videos on youtube that address some of the issues with that rifle. The reliability factor would be my primary concern. Perhaps a barrel band might offer some tuning... I had a Remington 597 22 Mag semi and it accurate but not reliable.

I have the 597mag with the bull barrel and laminated stocks .
At first there was a significant problem with the bolt and chamber which still had machining burrs everywhere which I felt was a total lack of proper quality control , especially on their so called top of the line model. I wrote Remington about this and even offered my services for quality control since they didn't have one...they never responded...lmao.
However , since I cleaned it all up , the rifle has performed very well , at least for my style of shooting and 60yr old eyes.
The one remaining beef is the cheap magazines which work fine loaded with 5rd only..but still..Remington cheaped out ...they ain't what they used to be..IMPO.
Anyhow , here's an older photo of a 85yd target...somewhat better that 2 moa ;)
Today , I have my sights set on the CZ 512 tactical...

I have had a couple different 22 magnum rifles and they have been fairly accurate, generally worse than 1.5 MOA. My current 22mag is an inherited Marlin 25MN, it has shot a ton of beavers and muskrats in the irrigation ditches and water holes back on the farm when dad was still around. Currently I am thinking I might pass it to one of my boys and get a CZ Canadian of the 512 either one in 22 mag.

Bought one from Cabelas. About 200 rds through it so far. Can touch shots at 25M. Accurtrigger is teŕrible. Not feeding second round all the time. May be as I'm not releasing the inconsistent trigger as the manual states. Possibly break in pains but I'm not impressed.
