Savage A22 Rifle

Yesterday I discovered my A22 was on sale for $120 less than I was charged last week. I contacted Cabellas and Teri in Customer Service immediately changed the billing on my gun. Teri took the initiative to phone me directly when the initial phone connection failed. Thanks Teri!

Final cost for the gun is $366 includes $7.50 Oversize Shipping and $38.40 GST/PST . This is down from $513 includes shipping and taxes. The rifle will be here in two days.

The rifle comes with the factory 10rd mag, a the Butler Creek 24 rd mag, a 3 by 9 scope and rings AND a mail in $25.00 rebate. All in all a pretty good deal I think. I plan to play with it in the Rimfire Matches held at the Pr. George Gun Club. Now I just have to pick up a good deal on a S&W Victory .22LR and I will be set.

Take Care and PLEASE Wear a mask.

As a retired Commercial Banker I know about the ps's LOL. The actual firearm, after you deduct $100 for the scope and rings and the $44 for the 25rd mag comes in under $200 with the rebate. Right now it has to be on anyone's Best Buy list. I considered buying a 2nd but I need to buy a pistol in order to give John R a lesson in mathematics, where less is more betta:>). There is also the matter of "she who knows best". If you are married you will know what I mean.

If you get 2 boxes of CCI ammo and a new 22 riffle (wich you did) you have a 20$ mail in rebate from CCI
https://www.cabelas.ca/product/134079/cci-clean-22-rimfire-ammunition-christmas-pack

This rifle purchase just keeps giving and giving. Thanks. I'll be off to Cdn Tire in the morning. I have a great deal of .22lr laying around but another two boxes won't hurt. Before taxes and shipping we are down:

$329
Less: $50.US
$20.US
($70X1.30) = $91Cdn

Total $238

Not bad for a gun that was priced at $449.99 just two weeks ago.Take Care

ps I think Canada Post is walking the gun to Terrace. Left Calgary on the 20th, I have a feeling it won't show up here until Monday. Their site said today. That said, their Virtual Assistant" asked me if it's answer was helpful.....lol

Great deal. Looks like they sold them all at cabela's. Thinking about getting the a22 precision from a certain retailer that has it for $580 which is the lowest I've ever seen it. Hoping it will be close to a MOA performer

All reports says it is. Is there a rebate with it as well? I noticed it is off their website now. I just lucked into it. I now have four 24rd mags for the gun and no rifle yet. Oh well, maybe tomorrow.

Yes, $50 rebate and I think I'll get some CCI as well. Think it'll be a good plinker out of the box. I don't expect it will keep up with highly customized 10/22's but probably will get 85% of the way there. There are some do it at home trigger jobs posted around and I believe there is a drop in trigger pack available. Unfortunately have not heard anything about custom barrels so probably luck of the draw there but I'm sure most will be great

Most guns, out of the box are more capable than the shooters who buy them. Unless you really are prepared to put the time and money into practicing and studying does it really matter. You will own a decent gun that will shoot as good as you are capable of likely and it will provide you with years of enjoyment. What is not to like. My A22 will allow me to compete in a sport I know little about but I will be with a good friend of mine sharing lies and drinking HIS wine. Life is good.

Great attitude!

Well OK I went out in a snow shower/light rain to sight the scope in and run a few rounds through her. It took a bit of work to get the gun sighted in. OOTB it was shooting 4" right and about 8"low. A zillion clicks later I put 10 rounds into am inch at 25 yards and called it a day. The gun liked the 80 rounds CCI I put down the pipe. No issues at all. The gun has a long reset as it comes from the factory. I have to read up on the accu trigger and make whatever adjustments I have to do to lighten the pull. I suspect the reset is what it is. The two Butler Creek mags worked as they should as did the factory 10 rounder. To early to pass judgement on either style of mag.

The 3x9 Weaver scope looks like a rather sturdy piece of kit. I doubt I will change it when going for gophers. For playing the games I intend to put a Vortex Sparc on the gun. I have one on the carbine Turdo seems to want and knows I have.

For the price point I sure can't complain. Service from Cabellas has been excellent. They are providing me with a receipt required to get the Savage Rebate. I don't see how I have any choice but to send it in by mail. The on line form won't take Canadian Provinces and I suspect the Postal Code. I intend to call Savage on Monday to see if there is a work around.

I will follow up with pictures later to-nite.

ps I have to fill the buttstock up with foam to get rid of the hollow sound it makes when you tap it. The polymer stock is well designed but does not scream "hand made by an arctician!

That rebate is for the price of ONE box of ammo, up to $20. Some of their sub ammo if in a 100 box might get to $20. . .

Buck1950 there are two rebates in play here. One is for the Savage A/B series of guns. The rebate is for $50 for the A22.

The 2nd rebate referred to in this thread is for CC! 22 ammunition. Buy any two boxes of CCI .22 ammunition and you can apply for a $20. rebate. I have the form in front of me.

All rebates referred to here are in US dollars.

I hope WMD can walk me through the rebate for the Savage. I would prefer to do it on line.

You would think I would learn by now. When you have a US and Canadian Flag together it might mean to choose one. Well it does and up jumped the Canadian Form for the rebate and I was on my way.

I sent it in to Savage.

As to the CCI Rebate. I bought two boxes of CCI Standard Velocity and a box of Mini mags. Turns out the rebate is for the cost of two boxes = %5.98 at our local CT Store. Started to fill oit the form. Take a picture of the Bar Cods, take a picture of the Delivery receipt for your rifle, the box it came on and the bar codes, the paid invoice....for a $5.98?.

Screw the CCI Rebate. It will be my choice for ammo. without the Rebate.

Here is the rifle.

Only about a 200 rounds through her. Tomorrow I intend to see if I can put up some targets at 50 and 75 yards.

The Bushnell scope has been a pleasant surprise.

ps Not bad for a $274,99 investment - Net of the rebate.

For the price i think there the best semi auto 22 you can buy. And yes i have a dlask tuff-22 done up but the savage shoots just as good.

There goes any excuse I might have for my inept shooting.:<)

I will be out tomorrow to see. Early signs suggest you are spot on. It still falls to the shooter but it helps if you have a decent barrel. They still are on for $339 + a Rebate of $60.US.
P wo;; [pst the target. Good or less than good.

Take Care and thanks for the comment.
