The difference being the bolt hold-open on each shot, required to be released to chamber a next round
where would this be any advantage?
likely would not preclude the use of the safety in any action shooting

A buddy of mine brought one of the A22R's up to our moose hunt this year to use for road chickens. It worked great and after a few rounds to learn how it worked, it was a dandy little rife. Many birds met their demise. A neat concept as it's kinda cool to keep the mag in the gun with the bolt in the locked back position and when you want to take a shot, you just reach forward of the trigger and hit the release lever. Kinda neat that it will shoot short, long and long rifle as well.

Some of these were being sold for dirt cheap a couple of years ago by a cgn dealer. I’m sure a bunch of people have them. In my mind, that fairly loud clunk when you release the bolt would scare many things away before you could shoot. If you got one for cheap (I did) you could “un R” it I suppose. Been meaning to look into that. Still haven’t fired it.

I had an A22 and there is also a loud "Clunk" when the trigger resets. Plus I couldn't get it under 2.5# even with a Gunshack Varmint trigger spring. It turned into a Rem 1100 last year - magic.
