Savage Accutrigger experience?

I have a Savage model 111 in .270 win.
I've had it for 2 years and purchased it brand new.
I've fired it at the range a fair bit and for target shooting I like it alot.
This past deer season I was using it as my primary rifle.
I had a opportunity at 2 doe's on the Monday afternoon.
I couldn't make the rifle fire under field conditions.
The safety was in the full off position, the cocking indicator said "cocked" but the trigger wouldn't release.
I tried it 3 times and each time the rifle refused to fire.
I switched to my Winchester M94 for the rest of the week, but of course never saw another deer.
After coming home, I took the rifle to my gunsmith and we were able to duplicate the problem.
What was happening was that the "accurelease" ( the little "tongue" piece that sticks out the front of the trigger) hinges on the same pin that the trigger hinges on.
The hole that the accurelease pivots on is ALOT bigger than the pin, that allows the accurelease to slide up and down quite a large distance.
The side of the accurelease has a little "tab" that sticks out the side of the accurelease and it is supposed to fit into a corresponding cutout or recess in the trigger itself.
When pulling the trigger with gloves on, the accurelease gets pushed up high enough that the "tab" on the side of the accurelease dosen't line up with the recess in the trigger.
That stops the release from being pressed in far enough to release the sear, but it doesn't stop you from pulling the trigger.
The end result is a "click" instead of a bang.
It's not a problem target shooting because you can just lift and lower the bolt handle and try again.
It is really upsetting to wait a year for deer season just to have your rifle crap out on you when you really need it to work though.
Because of this I won't hunt with any accutrigger rifles unless they have a "modification" of sorts.

I've tried it and didn't care for it.

I thought it was kind of idiot proof, but not as good as a really good normal trigger like some i've had on some of my rifles.

On a separate note, I bought my son's live-in girlfriend a youth model Savage 243 without the AccuTrigger.

Anyone have a link to a how to adjust the regular trigger.
