Savage American Classic Mod 14

With the Long Gun Registry long gone, I am considering a new rifle. Considering an American Classic model 14 in 250 Savage. Anyone have one of these? What are they like in terms of fit and finish, accuracy, etc?

I live in the sticks so I would likely have to mail order one. Just wondering what the stock is like. Some Savages seem a little clunky.

Any information would be appreciated. Thanks.

I've handled 2 of these in .308 and didn't mind the feel of the stock at all. It is quite nice really. I might even say nicer than a remmy cdl walnut stock

Unless you reload don't buy it in 250. Other than that I love mine in 270

And if you're in or near Kenora, there was about a dozen boxes of .250 ammo at CT last time I looked.

Nice stock, but I wouldn't go THAT far, lol!

They are a nice gun, the stock has a classy look to it but it feels somewhat hollow - it does not feel solid and heavy like you'd expect from walnut...just my opinion - I had one in .243, the most accurate gun that I have ever owned. Having said that, I think it is a wanna be BDL with a dash of cheese.
