Savage Arms 10FCP-K vs 12 VLP vs 12 BVSS

I PROMISE you, you will not be disappointed with the 10 FCP-K. Seriously I love mine and it shoots a dream. Buy buy buy! Lol

Well, I will go with the 10 FCP-K in .223 :)

Model 12 LRVP is nice, but I want a magazine in the rifle
I was considering the Model 12 VLP DBM, but I want a rifle with synthetic stock, and buying the same stock as the 12 LRVP with mag cut out and gunsmith fees will be simply too expensive for what I can afford since there seem to be no market at all for selling the original stock.

It's just sad that Savage don't make anymore the Model 12 LRVP-DBM, same as the 12 VLP-DBM with the HS Precision stock like the 12 LRVP. The Model 12 Long Range Precision is not available in .223 anymore :(

The other option would be that you guys tell me where to get parts and around how much it would cost to have something similar to the 12 Long Range Precision, no need for the Target Accutrigger, normal Accutrigger is ok for me. And another thing, is it hard and really more expensive to go with Savage Arms custom service? I imagine you have to find a retailer that is gonna import it for you, or do they have specific ones? Let's say to order a Model 12 VLP with a synthetic stock like HS Precision or Mc Millan?

Thanks everyone, your inputs are really appreciated. :)

Now I need to sell my Axis .223 and my CZ-52 pistol :D

Good choice and Im sure you'll be pleased. I would wager it will do less than 3/4" straight out of the box with Federal 69gr Sierra Matck King.

I'm sure you will be happy with that gun.

I would suggest that you give the Target Accutrigger a try. I questioned that it was worth the extra money, but it is a remarkably shootable trigger and a big improvement over the standard one, IMHO.

Problem is they are single shot, those with Target Accutrigger, except Model 12 LRP, not available in .223. I tried it a few times actually, and for sure loving it, standard Accutrigger will have to do for now :) I don't really want a single shot rifle, I know stock is better without mag. If I would have to buy onw without mag, I would have a hard time still, between the 12 LRVP and 12 FT/R :D

Will have to make a gut wrenching decision:D

Will have to choose between the 10FCP-K & the 12 LRPV Left Port

Both are looking nice.
10 have a magazine
12 have target accutrigger
10 is cheaper
12 has a HS Precision fiberglass stock
10 is fluted with muzzlebreak
12 is fluted stainless steel
:dancingbanana: :runaway::xes

Hard to make a choice!
Kinda scared to not like single shot if taking the 12
Kinda scared to no like the Accustock if taking the 10

Don't want to spend buying an after-market stock if I don't like the accustock
Can't get myself to like the stock color on the 12 VLP or BVSS & I don't feel like re-painting them. Talked to my gunsmith, he was telling me it's a bad idea to try to change the color of these stock, won't come out like the grey/black laminated stock from factory, and could cause some damages to the UV protection to the glue holding the layers of wood when the get in contact with varnish. if they could have color of the 12 FT/R, would be nicer. "Wheat colored" stock, Stainless steel barrel and black scope is too much colors for my taste. Like em dark :p Lightweight Varminter series have only 24 inches barrels.

Arrrgh, hard to make a choice :D

...End of rant, thanks for listening ;)

~850$ +tx

VS

~1180$ +tx

Tough decision. Where did you get the prices from?

Got them from Wholesale Sports, Gagnon Sports and looked at a place near me called Londero Arc-Inter.

At Londero, the 10 FCP-K is 855$ + tx = 985$

I don't know if I could order it from Alberta, at Wholesale Sports for 829$ + 5%tax= 870$ + 50$shipping = 920$ with 65$ difference I could get a nice scope mount to go on it.

Nice rifle ben :)

Just not sure if I like the feel of the Accustock, feels like my girlfriend"s Savage Mark II F, just a bit bigger. Those of you who have Accustock, is it really good, or should I get after-market stock? The one I held was from a rifle that has normal barrel, not a heavy one. Is the Accustock size bigger on the 10-FCP-K ?

Sry for the late-late reply...
I saw you just made a choice...

Personally, the accustock is really nice, feel good and strong...
The recoil pad is also very soft...

But to be honest I will upgrade the stock with an XLR Industries stock, should have it this week...

You have alot of options when its time to change the stock on a Sav Mod-10 :p
