Savage Arms model 219/220

Hey everyone. My son just inherited a gun, and maybe someone can tell me a little more about it. It is a SAVAGE ARMS 12 guage, 30-30 change barrel single shot gun. The 30-30 is a model 219 barrel and the 12 guage 2 3/4 is a model 220. I will try to post some pictures later.

Where would I find out about the year of manufacture?

Neat old guns. I have one the same.

There were 3 dates of manufacturing. The first were made up to 1947 in Utica NewYork. They then went to Chicope Falls till 1960 and then went to Westfield. Depends on your barrel address for year. Lots had no serial numbers and are hard to trace the year.

I have that one also, was my grandfathers. The 30-30 barrel is very accurate but I find the12 gauge won't shoot SSG well.
