Savage asks what would you like us to build next?

I'd love to see them build and sell in Canada higher capacity box magazines for their SA bolt rifles. Something for we masses and not just for their higher end tactical/police models.

9.3x62mm in a bear (short rifle)

st. st., bolt action ,irons sights, det. mag.,18" barrel, sythentic paddle type (old ruger)stock, price point - $750.00 range. its doable

I'd support the notion of a completely new combination gun. Something with a decent trigger and a good safety that could take a picatinny rail on top. Make it with 20" barrels and keep it under 6.5 pounds with a 20 gauge tube.

I would be happy with inexpensive factory made barrels (Sporter contour) in shorter length barrels ( ie 16.5") in various calibers such as .308 Win, .243, 7mm-08, .338 Fed, .358 Win, .223 Rem, .300 AAC Blackout, etc.

For those of us with the barrel wrenches it would be nice to have an inexpensive source of factory barrels for hunting rifles.

Hi-cap mags for the traditional DM rifles would be nice (such as those made by Darkeagle Custom).

Bring back the 99!!! and not the box fed crappy one either!!
I will have $ set aside for purchase if they do. I had an older one in .300 Sav and in a moment of weakness, I sold it to an ex-friend. What he did to the rifle is part of the reason why he is no longer my friend.

To all the guys saying .50 they wouldn't be able to export them to us anyhow.

I'm seeing Ruger products mentioned left right and center in this thread.

-Pistol caliber bolt actions/carbines

-16.5" barrel carbines

-Falling block

-High cap detachable mag bolt action

-"Nice all steel and wood .308 with iron sights"

-A 1911

-"375hh 458wm 9.3x62 416 rigby"

-"7.62x39 in something other then their Scout rifle would be great"

-A stainless scout rifle.

I would like to see a 25-06 in a semi auto, set up for target and varmit shooting, with a heavy barrel and a few bells and whistles. Yes it would cost more than cheap .223 or .308, but it would still be affordable for the reloader as opposed to the .338LM and bigger calibers, but have nearly the same velocity, and pleasant enough to shoot without a sissy whistle on it at the range.
As well, 25-06 is large enough for deer at a decent range, and while being a pinch big for some varmit, it isnt like a 22-250 or .223 in that it is more or less limited to varmit.

Also, some of their existing rifles done with some exotic or strange hardwoods and a bit more detail in the steel. Winchester has heeps of commemorative levers, why not have some fun with some of the bolt actions. It would be nice to have something as interesting as a large loop commemorative lever, and not feel guilty for taking it out of the safe.
