Savage axis bolt handle loose

picked an axis 30-06 off a friend and he tells me the wobbly loose bolt handle was like that out of the box. true? false?

Not that can see ill double check tho. it wobbles on the shaft

does it wobble when removed from rifle? normally savage bolts wiggle around a bit when in the gun.

that is not normal. The bolt handle should be held rigidly to the bolt body.

Yes a lot more than when in he gun

OMFG! The nut was just loose LOL thank you everyone you just saved me a trip to the hostpital next time i pulled the trigger. Think i might dab on some blue loctite.

Good to hear you found the fix.

Before posting a reply in this thread I did a google search and sure enough others out there had similar issues with their Axis rifles. If it happens again I'd go the blue loctite route...not too much though.
