sellers says it has less than a box through, he wants to trade it for a set of 4 used 33x12.50x15 truck tires and rims (value $600.). Rifle would be for resale. Swap or not?
Thanks for your input.

EDIT: Wondering if the trigger is adj-able on these rifles? Does not have the accutrigger. Has a long pull before firing!

Look at Cabelas or a sight sponsor. Sounds like 600 would be the higher end of a brand new axis combo. It would sell for less on the ee. Maybe maxing out at 400-450 imo

We put these on sale in the very low 400 buck range a couple times a year and when you buy it new you get the warranty from Savage (only has warranty for the original owner).

If I was taking on consignment I would be hard pressed to ask more than 300 bucks for it - there has to be some discount for 1) no warranty even if it's "almost new" and 2) almost new/one box through = Used and used shouldn't cost you more than the wholesale price for the rifle.

thanks guys, it's a done deal, the dude tossed in some peanuts to sweeten the pot, the rifle and scope look mint, it shoots, Jr tried it out off the deck. Will shoot it some more and offer it to a buddy and if it's still around for the winter gun show, it will go on the table, unless it becomes a keeper.;)

are the triggers adj-able on these rifles? Jr says it's not a nice trigger at all, too long a travel before it fires! Rifle groups very well, though!

I don't think he is looking to lower the weight...... Just the creep......

$100 for an aftermarket trigger then....

OP
The pre-accutrigger Axis ran about $300, the package about $350, usually with $50US mail in rebates. Camo was $25-$50 more depending where you shopped. Scope is Chinese Bushnell, basically worthless.
The other guy got a good deal on your tires and rims.

Yup its adjustable, just drive out the pins, allow the trigger to drop on the ground, grind it under your boot heel, then install a Timney; that's all the adjustment they need.

thx for the price info. The other guy tossed in some coin to make it more of an even value swap. I don't think the rifle is worth the cost of an aftermarket trigger, so it will likely be one for the table.
Thanks everyone for the info and suggestions.

I am no axxis fan, but the .223 in an axis would make a good leave in the truck / lean behind the door rifle....... Good to have for blasting cormorants around the trout pond from a distance......
