Hi, hoping someone has an answer...I recently acquired this rifle, and it came with the Bushnell model 76-8945 3-9x40 scope on it, I was just wondering if anyone knows if there is a sunshade I can buy for it...I know it's a cheap rifle with a ####ty scope, but I can hit a volleyball sized target at 400 yards, off a bipod with it, and for hunting purposes, that is way beyond where I'd take a shot anyway...if there isn't anything, i'll just not shoot into the sunset :)...thanks

It may be inexpensive, but that doesn't mean it's crap.

I couldn't agree more, my Axis in .223 puts 5 rounds into a ragged hole at 100 yards with my hand loads. But if you're wanting to shoot into the setting sun, a homemade jobby is better than nothing, no? OP said he couldn't find a sunshade; function over form, says I.

something threaded would be preferable, I don't reload, i get whatever accuracy i get out the hunting rounds i buy from the store...I'm a cheapskate, but I'm not taping pipe to my scope, lol...no dice, eh? thanks anyway fellas...i'll live.

Go to a plumbing store and find a chunk oh thin walled pipe and cramp it in the
objective lense.
Bet a box or two down the road the cross hairs gonna dew this............X

Or completely blow up, seriously under 30-06 recoil I watched it happen. Pulled the trigger and poof reticle gone, one little piece of wire on the bottom and one little piece on the right side. For the record I like Savage rifles, so this isn't hating on the rifle

Like yah! 30-06 recoil vs a Bushnell Banner 3x9x40... Recoil will win every time. Only a marketing genius would pair a 30-06 with a Banner. Not the fault of the rifle though! They replaced the scope that comes with the axis 2, i forget what it is but it is another cheap scope. Oh wait, i remember, it is the cheaper end of the Weaver line.

Ive put over 100 rounds down my Axis chambered in 30-06. Still holds zero and crosshairs are still straight. I definitely need to replace it though, clarity on it is ####.
