What's up guys.
I was looking for an extra Axis mag that carries more than 5 rounds, but there are none available in Canada.

So I made my own.

It was no walk in the park, but it functions 100% and has an 18 round capacity.
It's also legal, since the mag is still the savage one, and I couldn't find anything preventing me from modifying a mag designed for a bolt action, to have a higher capacity.

Essentially it uses the bottom half of an AR mag, shortened AR spring, and modified AR follower.
I also had to make sure the rounds sit high enough for the bolt to catch the rim every time, and that no interference of the follower or any binding occurs.

Enjoy and if you have any questions ask away

Has 18 rounds written on it so I would think not. Plus the OP states he did this mod to extend his magazine capacity, so it's hard to think all this work would be purely for aesthetics.

I think he meant how I attached the AR body to the savage mag.
What I used were shortened screws through the bottom plate & savage body, into the AR body. I then grinded off the heads.

Whoops my bad I thought he meant a capacity rivet.. "insert face palm emoji here". Very nice work on your part though!

Interesting setup. Makes one wonder if something similar couldn't be done with AICS magazines - although the price difference between AR and AICS magazines is more significant.
