Brand-new out of the box and feeding is just frustrating. LH .223, using factory ammo, magazine properly "clicked" in place. Bolt is moved forward, bolt face properly engages cartridge base and moves it forward. Problem is, front of cartridge does not rise that much during the forward motion. Bullet almost always comes in contact with the bottom metal of the chamber face, roughly at the six-o'clock spot. Once it touches the face it's game- over, bolt is jammed and stops moving, must remove mag and round and try again. Happens about 80% of the time, needless to say it's quite irritating.
I think that the magazine is to blame, perhaps the feed lips are bent too much and don't allow the front of the cartridge to cant up enough to center it to the face. The interwebz says that the mag spring might also be placed backwards. Either way, I don't want to fiddle with it until someone with more experience can give me some advice. Hopefully it's an easy fix, not really keen on packaging a brand new rifle, sending it in for repairs and waiting weeks for it to be returned.
