Has anyone upgraded their Savage Axis Boyds-stocked rifle with the aluminum mag catch? Very interested in obtaining one of these bad-boys but shipping from the States is almost impossible.

Short of buying a new one, and in the absence of a six-figure CNC machine sitting around, I'd like to try my luck making one by hand.

If anyone has such a beast, could you kindly measure the distances requested in the pic below? I guess it doesn't HAVE to be the aluminum one per se, the standard plastic dimensions would be of great help.

My best ESTIMATES are: X= .900", Y=.540" and Z=.350" , I'm sure I'm way off, hence for the request for help. Thanks in advance.

Edited to add: Someone was nice enough to send me the specs, no longer need them.

A member from another forum was kind enough to get me the exact dimensions of the mag catch in question. Used some scrap aluminum angle and rod to JB Weld a working example.

LOL... Based on the time I spent on it, I'd make better wages in a developing country's sweat-shop. Thanks for your kind words, strictly a one-of, just for kicks and giggles.

If you can cast bullets... you can cast the mag catch... isn’t much different, just a little hotter!
Cheers
