I have a savage axis is 7mm-08 that I’ve had for quite a few years and I haven’t been shooting it lately because every time I shoot the magazine drops out just enough to not be able to chamber another round. Is this something that could be fixed by an upgraded stock? Is it even worth it to do that or should I sell it and use that to fund buying a nicer rifle in 7mm-08.

Is it the stock or the mag that's the issue?

I've seen two Axis magazines where the bottom of it is starting to come off, making it so the next cartridge doesn't feed/sit high enough. Check that the plastic bottom of your magazine is properly secured to the metal sides, in both instances the tabs on the plastic bottom that interface with the metal sides were breaking off, allowing the back side of the mag to droop.

It seems like it’s the entire magazine that pops out slightly whenever I shoot it. The magazine itself looks intact
