Money. The stevens was probably taking sales away form the axis. Also the axis is probably cheaper to make then the stevens.

Also methinks whomever packed your rifle didn't do a very good job.

Of course this isn't an excuse for Canada Posts bad handling of your rifle.

That sucks, just headaches to make it right. No broken rifles yet but CP did deliver a couple that they lean against the house. We live between 2 high school, luckily they were still against the house when we got home from work.
