Savage Axis with factory heavy barrel

Savage recently posted that an Axis with a factory heavy barrel will be available soon. It's already posted on their website. Replace the crappy factory stock with a Boyd's stock and it looks like it would be an inexpensive varmint rifle or a starter precision rifle.

Looking to set up a fun paper puncher/coyote/small game rifle in .223
I see one of our suppliers has an Axis with factory heavy barrel in inventory for $410
Anyone have any experience? Would the factory heavy barrel be worth it.
I would imagine they would be the same heavy barrels as other Savage models rather than them making one special for the Axis.
It doesn't look like a Boyds stock is currently available for the heavy barrel.

My understanding is that you are better off going with at least a model 11 or 111 if you want to do a bunch of customizing to a Savage....?.
