Savage Axis XP 5 shot group

Have a Savage 10HS in 308 that will put 5 rounds into one of those shoot n see patch dots. Has around 1000 rounds through it and still does it religiously.
They shoot good, even with the rough factory cut bores, they do smooth out and get more consistent.

I found that to be true - have just under 2,300 rounds out of my Savage Axis - it seems to get better the more it shoots

Glad to see this I have 3 Axis I haven't got time to shoot and a Tikka the Axis sort of have scopes came with them .

Yes, the Savage Axis with the spring kit have the same performance as the Axis 2. They are excellent shooters. Right now everybody is excited about the Ruger Ranch because it accepts AK mags and has a threaded barrel (which is useless in both 223/556 and 7.62x39) but if you watch some youtube videos, they are not better than a Axis for double the price.

Ruger Ranch owners won't admit it but it is a cheap rifle with a horrible bolt movement and flimsy stock. Same for the one in 7.62x39, accurate but basically a $500 rifle, pig with some make up.

I’ll admit it, the ranch is a cheap POS. I owned one. Not anymore. It was accurate though. The axis is also a cheap POS. But they work just fine. Choose your poison, either one will make small groups in paper. They are cheap clunkers though, the savage is just cheaper for the same performance.
