Savage Axix vs. 11FXCP

I'm getting ready to purchase a new Savage, and I found both models (axis & 11FXCP) with only $40-60 difference between them.

I'm looking to purchase it in .308win (if that makes a difference), is one much better than the other? I'm just not sure what "should" make the 11fxcp better than the axis. Any help or advice would be appreciated. Thanks.

Does the 11 have ann Accutrigger? If you were interested in customizing the rifle the 11 would get the nod.

I had the same choice last fall, handled both rifles and took the 11 in .243.

No, the 11 doesn't have the accutrigger. I'm not planning on modding it right now, but I feel that the 11 would give me more options down the road. I have no idea why I believe that though.

Does the 11 have a "nicer" action?

I'd take the 11. It looks and feels better. Both models shoot great

Bought a Axis 243 for my grandson upgraded the rings with Leopold Rifleman put a Redfield Revolution 4X12X40 and tailoired a load of 95 gr of SST Interlock at 3200 fps, it is a al day long sub-moa first class set-up for under 600.00. This is the way to go with those combo rifles a rig for life now... Cheers. JP.

They both shoot well. The Axis has a detachable mag but a really long length of pull, over 14 in.

timmy makes an adjustable trigger for the axis now. Also I have 2 axis' so i may be bias lol

i have an edge, same thing just a different name. i cut a few coils on the trigger spring to lighten it up and shorten the trigger pull which is far nicer now. im looking at having mystic precision to true up and tune my bolt because its really stiff. other than that the stock is kinda cheap but the over all rifle is great. i bought a better scope and rails for mine and it shoots great.

The C in 11FXCP is Savage's designation for "clip", i.e. detachable magazine.

spend a tiny bit more and get the accutrigger... imo an awesome factory adjustable trigger...

I've had bad experiences with the Edge. The 11 is sooooo much better. I own both. Much higher quality. The trigger is easily adjustable with one screw. Buy it!
