I just saw this sweet sweet rifle. (I've been wanting a mark ii fv sr for a while. Just waiting for all the stars to align or something :p then I found this rifle.)

Couldn't find any vendor selling it in Canada. Does anyone know if this rifle has cross the border yet?

EDIT: Or planning to cross the border

Has anyone compared the MK II to the B22?

Definitely a nicer stock compared to the MK II Tupperware, but are there any other advantages worth noting if one were to look to purchase either?

I particularly like that the Savage rimfire barrels are built in Lakefield, ON

Is the entire B-series of rifles made in Canada or is it now in the US?

I think the new B-series uses a barrel nut similar to their centerfire rifles which should be better? The Mark II line was pressed fit I believe.

Al Simmons has basic B17s in as of last week, 22lr/mag are inbound. I'm tempted to pick one up to compare to my mkii, but I'm gonna wait for a wood stock version.

In one of the A22 threads, the owner noted it was made in the US. The B-series looks like they might be Canadian though.
0:13 mark of this video, you can see the B17 is made in Lakefield

Has anyone found a review on this rifle? I just picked up a mkii version of this. Love the fv-sr configuration so far.

They have them now but at $440.00 I think I'll hold off.

Well since the Savage B17 is made in Canada I might need to find myself one in the future. I was going to go for a CZ but the fact the Savage is Canadian, has a rotary mag and available in stainless steel is quite the package. The magazines are the same as the A17 in these rifles? That gives the capability to have the 25 round butler creek mags? I assume so but there is limited information out there due to the newness of this product. No one has confirmed it anyone know?

The irons on the b22f are much nicer than what comes on the mkii. Rear sight is adjusted for windage/elevation with a screw instead of the crappy stairs-style sights on the old model.

I found and ordered one from frontierfirearms.ca for $410 (online yay)

If the guy at the gun dealer answered my phone I would've paid $440 + shipping and taxes.

When you get it would you mind taking it out of the stock and posting some pics of the receiver, and internals?

Is this detachable rotary mag a weird Savage thing or will it take Ruger rotary mags ?

Too bad this isn't offered in stainless.
