Savage BA Stealth

This was shot at 300m on my first day out with the rifle. I only had 50 rounds with me and went out with the intent of getting the rifle zero'd and just getting to know it. I haven't developed a load, lightened the trigger or really learnt the rifle yet. But I feel I have a good starting point. Group is a 9 round group, measured to 2.095" @ 300m(328yd). That's .669MOA if my calcualtions are correct(ish). There may have been some rounding. I'm also sure I'll catch some flack about the 3 shots I didn't circle, but I was still learning the scope and take my word for it or don't. Those were my first shots at 300m before putting the last of the ammo I had into the paper.

I found the bolt to be a bit gritty at first but after a good cleaning, and working it for a bit, it smoothed out alright. I expect it'll get better with use. The accutrigger is set at factory weight, and I could tell I was fighting the trigger pull every once in a while, I'll lighten it right down for my next outing. I've also got some rounds worked up from 39.7 to 42.5gr, time to find what it likes.

So far, yes I would buy another one if something catastrophic were to happen.

Thanks for the reply!! I have yet to fire mine. Hopefully tomorrow. Things I do not like ( without shooting it ) are the hard recoil pad and I don't think the cheek riser is very good. My rifle barrel was dirtier than I thought it would be.
I need to add a different mag and a muzzle brake, and get my reloading ducks in order. The more I look at it the more I like the looks of it. Hope its a shooter.

I don't have the BA, but it's quite similar to the FCP-K. I like it so much I have two of them. (Well one is up for sale) Great rifles that are tack drivers, and fantastic bang for the buck.

Thanks,
Cal.

Shot my Stealth today. It worked great. Everything functioned properly, the bolt was smooth enough, magazine worked fine, trigger is ok, likely take some weight out of it. I found it weird at first getting set up. It was my first time shooting a non traditional style stock. Trying to learn where to grip or not grip the pistol grip. ( it was easy to accidentally apply torque to the grip at least at first. )
I only shot 30 rounds of factory Hornady 143 ELDx. The last 10 shots were interesting. I fired 4, then reloaded the mag and fired 6 more. The 10 shot group was 1.2". But the good part was that the last 6 were great. I will post a pic later but I'm guessing they are close to 1/2" or 5/8". I think they all would have been right in there, but I was cleaning the barrel between shots up to the first 20 rounds, and likely the barrel was too clean. Anyway, I'm looking forward to trying it again.

I have a 10 CFP-K aswell in a MDT LSS stock with a Sightron STAC 4x20 in .223. Fantastic bench gun that is cheap to shoot and a tack driver with the proper load.
