What are you guys using on your long action savage rifles in regards to rings/bases. Mine is non accutrigger with roundtop reciever if that matters.

I would like a 1 piece Weaver base. I cannot afford a Ken Farrel base

The darn 2 pce bases are so far apart, and I just despise them bloody weaver extension rings.
I patiently await any replies and advice. thank you

What scope are you trying to mount? I know there are a bunch out there that won't fit the 2 pc bases without extension rings, but some, like the Bushnell Elite series can be mounted using just regular Weaver style rings. I have a 3200 series Bushnell 3-9x40 on mine with 2pc Weaver bases and medium height Weaver Grand Slam rings. Rifle is chambered in 7mm Rem Mag.

I was in the same boat when I bought my Savage 111 in 300 Win Mag. I ended up settling on the Weaver #402 front extension base. Without going to a pic rail, this seemed like the easiest solution to me and it works well. According to Weaver it gives you another .689" to play with.

So the #402 front extension combined with the #46 rear and topped with Burris Zee rings is what I ended up with after looking at lots of alternatives. It helps that the #402 is very inexpensive.

I'm using Talley Lightweights on my Stevens 200. I mounted a 3-9 Burris Signature with no problem but it's a bit longer than most scopes. I tried to mount a Rifleman on another but ended up having to use extension rings (which I hate too).

i picked up a Ken Farrel base for my 110 in .338WM on the ee from a fellow cgner. i think i picked it up for 50$ give or take a few bucks shipped. i was in the same boat where i didn't want extension rings. i find them fugly as hell.
