Hello guys!

I was wondering if anyone had some pictures of a bedding job they did on a Stevens 200/savage 10 or similar. Looking to do my first one on my Stevens 200 in .243 with JB weld.

Thanks everyone!

If you're trying to figure out where the bedding material goes, put it around the receiver and under the chamber area of the barrel only. And don't forget the release agent. You may have to route out about 1/16" of stock too. Not always though.

go to w ww.savageshooters.com look in the articles section for the article bedding 101it has a detailed write up with pics on bedding the savage

Thanks 604shooter.

Thats going to help me alot. It didn't show a pic but, should I be placing epoxy in the front side of the piller that the recoil lug sits infront?

Thanks!!

No problem LeePeterson. I'm not too sure what you mean when you say "epoxy in the front side of the piller that the recoil lug sits infront." I basically placed epoxy around the pillar areas and filled the recess for the recoil lug (tape the recoil lug as described). Also make sure you fill the grooves on the barrel nut with modelling clay to prevent a mechanical lock. Here's another example with additional pictures:

Hope this helps.

You definitely want to get the area that recoil lug sits against, that's the main area of importance with these rifles. You should also make sure to have bedding around the sides of the lug.

With these synthetic stocks you'll need to rough it up quite a bit so the bedding bonds properly to it.

Thanks for all the help guys!

Should I fill in the parts marked green in the picture with epoxy? Or do I use something else?
