Savage BMag Magazine Mod

Really like my Savage B22, except to find out quick how many cartridges are in the magazine.
Thought I'd share my solution. Probably not the first to do it, but ... picture below is most of the explanation.

I removed the back plate from the magazine, easy just 2 screws. Comes apart easy, spring is preloaded with about a 3/4 turn.
Center punch pattern, pilot drill with #44 bit or similar. Final hole size is 5/32". Deburr/Chamfer by hand with drill bit slightly larger than 5/32". Both sides.
Reassemble. Done.

Cool, did you drill it with the ammo in it? (joking)

I did a mod to my b-mag as well (mines a 17wsm)... fit in a Franklin arms AR-17 mag and AR style mag release, (it's a B-mag in an AICS airsoft stock) but you can see the ammo through the vertical slot in the mag. Supposed to trade it for a mauser 270 but havent been in contact with the fella for a while.
